
Makalu, the restiricted area or remote part himalayan high pass trekking is well known among the trekkeres who seeks for adventure trekking. High in the heart of the eastern Himalayan, seven valleys radiate from mount, Makalu (world’s fifth highest Peak). Rising from the bottom of Arun valley (435m) it has been kissing sky with the height of (8463m) making wide range dominating distinctively the different climates in the region. Widened with 40km ranges it has been most popular pockets of the animal and plants, which apparently, shelter abundant wildlife, including the endangered red panda and musk deer with other Ghoral, thar and snow leopards. Ornithologist has identified 400 species, of which, 16 of them are extremely endangered.
Nesteled in the lower reaches of these valleys are communities of Rai, Sherpa, and Shinsawa farmers. Though economically poor and isolated, they retain a rich cultural heritage. They hold the key to the preservation of the unique biological and cultural treasures of the Makalu Barun area.
Extending to 2330sq km, Makalu-Barun valley is a vital component of Mount Everest ecosystem which includes Nepals 1148 sq. km Sagarmatha National Park to the west and the 35.ooosq. km qomolungma Nature Preserve to the Tibet Autonomous Region of China to the north. Conservation has been astounding exposure to the naturalists with 3000 species of flowers and huge numbers of orchids. Among them more than 25 of Nepal’s Rhododendrons and 45 of prime roses are coloring the hillsides. As high passes are less likely to be covered of snow, so we advise you to explore the region through October-November and March-April while the lower part is temperate in winter and hot during April-May. June through September is the season of heavy monsoon and April-May is occasionally.
Makalu trekking region is subject to all the rules relating entry fee, fees for video cameras and restriction on firewood. The nearest airstrip in this region is Tumlingtar. Nestled in the lower reaches of these valleys are communities of Rai, Sherpa, and Shingsawa (Bhotia) farmers.
Though the region is hardy and adventurous the limitation of the age is freed. For the purpose the physical training like, running, swimming, biking, hiking, and other like aerobics would be better. With frequent acclimatize the sickness is not expected during the trip. The steep descends and ascend may hamper the treks. Without anxiety the trek can be enjoy the sense of adventure.
