Nepal Trekking: Trekking Permit, Special Permit, permit requirement

Though many activities like rafting, climbing, mountaineering, jungle safari, sight seeing tour, mountain flight, Heli tour etc can be done in this country mainly the trekking permit and the national park fees are mandatory to each guest who plans to trek and enter into the National park. Almost all the trekking areas are in the remote part of the country and have not been linked with the road. The way one can trek is only by means of going to the middle and start walk up and down as the way is.

The trekking in Langtang, Annapurna and Everest regions are declared the permit free areas. But, the national park fees are mandatory. The company “(é’空)Dreamland Trekking & Expedition (P) Ltd†processes for all the necessary documents like trekking permit, national park permit, white water rafting permit, National Park Entrance Permit and others from Immigration office.

The regions except above mentioned are supposed to trek with park and trekking permit. The areas are even known as the restricted areas. Almost the areas were restricted in the past. The normal trekking areas are as free of trekking permits, then, restricted areas are supposed to visit only in groups. The permit will not be issued for the individuals.Interested individuals are requested to contact or e-mailing to join the groups or for group trekking, Aaozora Dreamland Treks & Expedition manage the permit for those who are interested to join the groups.
The permits which are necessary to the regions are as follows;

  • Lower Dolpo Regions: First four(4) weeks per person US$ 10.00 and after the completion of first period a weeks US$ 20.00 in per person basis.

  • Humla Region (Yari and Simikot): Passing through Limi, Muchhu and Darma village development committee to Tibet. The charges in the region will be in weekly basis. First week US$ 70.00 per person and later on per person US$ 10.00 perday.

  • Darchula region. First week per person US$ 70.00 and later on per day US$ 10.00 in per person basis.

  • Manaslu Region: If the tour is on September to November per week per person US$ 70.00 and on December to August per week per person US$50.00.

  • Upper Dolpa and Upper Mustang:First 10 days per person US$ 500 and after 10 days per person per day US$ 50.00.

  • Bajhang region First 7 days per person US$ 70.00 and after a week complete per person per day US$ 10.00.


  • Manang region: If the tour is on September to November per week per person US$70.00 and on December to August per week per person US$ 50.00. Nar, Tilche (Northern side) Phu etc.

  • Rasuwa region: Per person per week US$ 10.00. Thuman, Tingure etc.

  • Mugu region: First 7 days per person US$ 70.00 and after a week complete per person per day US$ 10.00. Mugu, Pulu, Dolpu etc.

  • Everest Region (Solukhumbu): north-west side of Namche village development committee. First 4 weeks Per person per week US$ 10.00 and after first 4 weeks per person per week US$ 20.00

  • Taplejung (Kanchenjanga Area) Lelep, Olangchunggola, Yamphudin, Papung and Village Development Committee.
